The Garmisch municipal council approved the cultural development plan for the Garmisch-Partenkirchen market. The decision was based on a study by actori, starting by monitoring the cultural landscape through examining the demographic framework and cultural policies. Hereinafter, to find out the regional characteristics of the market, interviews and discussions were held on site.
In particular, the great diversity of cultural offerings, the artistic personalities Michael Ende and Richard Strauss, as well as the lively cultivation of traditions and customs of the region were identified as unique selling points. In exchange with cultural actors of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a vision, guidelines for the cultural work and fields of action have been defined. In the furture Garmisch-Partenkirchen will stand out with „Highlight “ events, that reach out beyond regional boarders.
